Why Pay For A Professional?

Your Wedding Photography is the only investment from your special day that will stay with you for the rest of your lives. Your photographer has only one chance to get it right!

Recently, the price of digital cameras has reached a price point that has made it possible for scores of beginners to declare themselves wedding photograpers. You may know one. Maybe one is offering services to you for free. While it is tempting to take a friend up on such an offer, there are some very good reasons to hire a professional instead.

- A professional brings knowledge and experience specific to the wedding field that enables him to predict what is going to happen next, and to be ready for it. Many a Couple who let a friend do their wedding pro-bono has been left heart-broken because of missed key shots.

- A professional has studied composition, light and color, and has invested in the technology to consistently control and shape it. . .and so a professional will never present you with photos that are indistinguishable from the ones your guests can take with a simple point and shoot camera, and we have the pictures to prove it. ALWAYS ask to see a photographer's portfolio, in enlarged print form, not just 4x6 proofs. Look for quality lighting, and consistent color, like the kind you see on this website. Being able to click a shutter does not make you a photographer!

- A professional is prepared for equipment failure. Even with new equipment, failures can happen - Especially at weddings, because the equipment is being used for such a long period of time without a rest. Professionals have invested thousands of dollars in extra cameras, lenses, flashes, batteries, chargers, memory cards, etc, to make sure they are never caught without equipment.

- A professional is registered with the province, and the municipality in which they are based, and so there is legal recourse for you, should any disputes arise, and incentive for the photographer to fulfill his contractual responsibilities to your satisfaction. Being disappointed by a friend's performance can lead to heartbreaking and nearly impossible to resolve situations.

- A professional has access to products that no one else has. The best companies offer their product lines only to registered professionals, because only experience produces the kind of beautiful results that good companies want their products associated with.
